How Spatial came to be.

It’s kinda crazy. We didn’t intend to start a furniture company. I had been producing and mixing at home a lot more, due to the COVID-19 lockdowns, and I had been building a home studio that had a lot of potential to be great. Once I realized that I wanted to make the space and the setup into a professional environment, I decided to start looking for the right desk. After a lot of searching, I found there was nothing out there that really fit my needs. There were a couple of things that were pretty close when it came to features, but they were either poor build quality, poor quality control, complicated assembly, or way too expensive.

It became clear to me that I was going to have to build something myself, so I called my dear friend Stephen Zerne - a talented product designer and visual artist - and we got to work on a design. Fifteen iterations later, we came up with a desk that was absolutely perfect for my needs. After showing it to a few other music creators, we realized this was the desk that many people had been looking for.

When designing our desk it was very important to us that the build quality, materials, and quality control were top notch, and that the assembly was simple. Stylistically, we wanted something modern yet classic, that would work in a variety of environments - whether you’re a producer, songwriter, mixer, or musician - working in a commercial facility, home, or school. It needed to fit an 88-key keyboard, have plenty of leg room, and satisfy even the biggest neat freak (like me!) with cable management features.

After a lot of hard work, we’re happy to be here as Spatial, and to offer you a desk we’re incredibly proud of.
